Compressed air dryers
Compressed air dryer: How to choose the right dryer?
Compressed air dryers have many different uses, but the main one is to remove moisture from the compressed air. The presence of moisture is detrimental to air quality and can lead to problems such as air contamination, pipe corrosion, swelling of O-rings, etc.
Chaque sécheur possède des caractéristiques propres. Celui qui vous convient le mieux dépend de ce que vous recherchez ou des besoins particuliers de votre usine.
Criteria for selecting and sizing a compressed air dryer:
- Class of compressed air required
- Compressed air flow rate to be treated
- Nominal pressure of the compressed air at the dryer inlet
- Required air pressure in the compressed air network
- Ambient temperature
- Ambient air quality
- Intermittent or continuous use of compressed air
- Number of hours of compressed air use per day
Types of air dryers:
Refrigeration air dryers
–
The most common type – they cool the compressed air to condense the water that will be purged out of the system.
Regenerative air dryers
–
Remove moisture from the air at a very low dew point
Membrane air dryers
–
Capable of separating moisture from compressed air at a very low dew point.
